Privacy policy

What we store

• Your account: your email address, the name you show to others, your language and the date you joined.
• Your profile, if you fill it in: a one-line headline, a short bio, your fields, where you are, when you are free and links to your work.
• What you create: projects, the roles and tasks you post (Needs), your applications and the pitch you write, and agreements with their terms, acceptances and completion.
• Your inbox: a note each time something changes on a record you are part of.
• Sign-in and security records: sign-in links, website sessions, the assistants you connected and when they were last used, and short records that stop a repeated request from acting twice. We store sign-in links, codes and tokens only in scrambled (hashed) form.
• We do not store payment details. Compensation in an agreement is text the two of you agree on. Budala moves no money.

Why we use it

• To run your account and the collaboration you ask for: showing opportunities, sending applications, recording terms and telling you when something changes.
• To keep the service secure: signing you in, limiting abuse and making sure a repeated request does not apply twice.
• We do not sell your data, show advertising, use analytics or tracking tools, or use your data to train AI models.

Who sees it

• Other members see your name on records you share with them. Once a project is published, anyone can see it and its open roles, with or without an account. Your pitch and your agreements are visible only to you, the other party and the project's producers. Your profile is visible only to people you work with: producers of projects you apply to, people who apply to your projects, and co-producers you name on your projects. It is never public, and your email address is never shown.
• Your assistant, such as Muse or Claude, sees what you allow when you connect it: "look only" or "look and act". What that assistant does with the data is covered by its maker's privacy policy.
• Hetzner Online GmbH hosts our server and database in Germany. Backup copies are stored with Hetzner in the European Union.
• Sign-in emails go through our mail server and an email delivery service, DuoCircle, in the United States. They see your email address and the text of the email.
• We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.

Where your data is

Budala Corporation is in the United States. Your data is stored on servers in Germany, with backups in the European Union. Using Budala from Turkey or anywhere else means your data is stored outside your country.

How long we keep it

• Your account and records stay until you delete your account.
• Sign-in links are deleted 30 days after they are created. Sessions and assistant tokens are deleted 30 days after they expire. Records that stop repeated requests are deleted after 90 days.
• When you delete your account, we delete your email address, name, profile, untouched drafts, pitches, sessions, assistant connections and inbox. Work you finished with someone stays in their records with your name shown as "Former member". Backups that hold your old data age out within about three months. We use backups only to recover from a failure.

Cookies

We use three cookies, all needed for the site to work: one keeps you signed in, one protects the sign-in link you asked for, and one remembers your language. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

Your rights

• You can delete your account any time under Account, and remove an assistant's access there too.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask how we use it, or object to a use. Write to support@buda.la. We answer within 30 days.
• If you are in Turkey and our answer does not settle it, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, kvkk.gov.tr).

Age

Budala is for people 18 and older.

Changes

We post changes on this page. Before a change that affects how we use your data takes effect, we tell members by email.
